Enbrel Litigation

Wyeth released a news announcement on their website on 4/11/2001. Enbrel (etanercept) is still being prescriped even though, according to Wyeth, "SINCE THE PRODUCT WAS FIRST INTRODUCED, SERIOUS INFECTIONS, SOME INVOLVING DEATH, HAVE BEEN REPORTED IN PATIENTS USING ENBREL."

If Experiencing Side Effects

Currently, those who experienced severe side effects due to Enbrel are encouraged to seek an attorney, or find a firm devoted to class actions against the manufacturer of Enbrel.

The Kahn Gauthier Law Group is currently looking into potential lawsuits to be filed against Immunex Corporation, to recover side effects that patients have suffered because of Enbrel. Immunex is the manufacturer of the prescription drug Enbrel.

What is Enbrel

Enbrel (etanercept) is a type of protein known as a tumor necrosis factor (TNF) blocker. It prevents the the immune system from makiing TNF. People with immune diseases, including rheumatoid arthiritis, ankylosing spondylitis, psoriatic arthritis, and psoriasis, have too much TNF in their bodies.
Enbrel is able to lessen the amount of TNF in a person's body to normal levels.
In doing this, however, Enbrel can also lower the ability of a person's immune system to fight infections.
Patients taking Enbrel have experienced several side effects, including susceptibility to infection, sepsis and other serious blood disorders, as well as severe nevrous system disorders (include multiple scelrosis, seizures, and inflammation of the eye's nerves.
